The BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) examination is one of the most competitive exams in Bangladesh, granting civil service jobs under the government. Annually, thousands of aspirants work hard for limited spots. To begin your journey, you must complete the application process. Here’s a thorough guide to help you apply effortlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To proceed with applying, visit the BPSC’s official website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Be careful from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the announcements section. The circular shares necessary information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other notable instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Carefully read the guidelines, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The regular age limit is from 21 to 30 years for general candidates, but age extensions are available for specific groups such as freedom fighters’ heirs or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the online registration form (Form 1). Complete all compulsory fields, such as basic information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Verify for any discrepancies. Providing inaccurate information can lead to rejection.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a current copyright-sized photograph (300px x 300px, file size below 100KB) and your signature (with dimensions 300x80, file size below 60KB). Make sure these meet the specifications mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After finishing the online form, you will be provided with a User ID. Use this ID to submit the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the SMS format provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will get a confirmation SMS with a Transaction ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Access again the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

File your application well before the deadline to steer clear of last-minute delays.

Print a copy of the final application form for future use, such as for getting the admit card.

By following these steps, you can successfully apply for the BCS exam and get one step nearer your desired position in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Good luck!
